Biography

Professor Fan is an Adjunct Professor of Wealth Management at the Business School of the University of Hong Kong. She is a member of the Imperial Business School Advisory Board. She is an award-winning Chief Investment Officer with 31 years of experience in wealth management, asset allocation, investment strategy, portfolio advisory, family office servicing and equity research. She was previously Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer for Asia, at HSBC Private Bank and Premier Wealth and Credit Suisse Private Banking, being the Chair of their Asia Investment Committee and member of their Global Investment Committee.

With two decades of private banking experience, she was recognised by the Global Private Banking Innovation Awards for “Outstanding Contribution by Chief Investment Officer – Asia” in 2025 and 2024, and “CIO of the Year in Asia” in 2023. Her thought leadership was recognised with the Best Investment Research in Asia, Hong Kong, and Singapore in the Euromoney 2025 Private Banking Awards. Prior to joining the private banking industry in 2006, she held senior China equity research roles for 11 years at ABN AMRO Bank, Cazenove Asia, BNP Peregrine Securities and Standard Chartered Securities.

She is a frequent speaker on leading global and local TV channels, including Bloomberg TV, CNBC, Cable TV, NOW TV, RTHK, and regular contributor for major media publications in Asia and Hong Kong. She was former Political Editor of the Hong Kong Economic Journal with seven years of experience as a political journalist specialised in Chinese and Hong Kong politics.
