The inaugural cohort of BGLIS (Bachelor of Global Leadership, Innovation and Society) at HKU Business School accounts for 34% of this year's Martin Prize recipients at St John's College — 10 of the 29 total recipients.

Two first-year students from the inaugural cohort of BGLIS (Bachelor of Global Leadership, Innovation and Society) at HKU Business School have won places in the HKU University Philharmonic Orchestra for its freshman performance. Audrey Xiaodi Liu has been named Concertmistress — the outer first desk of the first violin section — and Aaron Lam joins the cello section at the outer second desk.

On September 20, 2026, the 4th Autumn Charity Golf Tournament organized by the HKU Business School South China Alumni Network Golf Club, along with the Kick-Off Ceremony for the HKU Alumni Golf Team for the Hanlin Cup, took place at Guangzhou Nansha Golf Club.

A recent study published in Science, co-authored by Prof. Junhan Wang (Shenzhen University), Prof. Xibao Li (Tsinghua University), and Prof. Yanbo Wang (HKU Business School), reveals how firms on the US Entity List adapt. Analysing 12 years of firm-level data, the researchers find targeted companies leverage public science to decode core principles, accelerating China’s rise as a global scientific knowledge producer.

As the 2026–27 academic year kicked off, HKU Business School warmly welcomed our new undergraduates and incoming exchange students. Beginning in late August 2026, a vibrant series of orientation activities brought the cohort together—connecting peers across programmes, introducing key academic and support teams, and sharing practical guidance for a confident start. The result was clear: new faces quickly became one community, ready to thrive.
