Professor Michael He Jia Awarded the Faculty Outstanding Researcher Award 2024-25

Great news! This year’s Faculty Outstanding Researcher Award goes to Prof. Michael He Jia, our esteemed scholar in Marketing!

Prof. Jia’s research examines visual processing and aesthetics on digital platforms, numerical processing and promotion decisions, and in the inspiring field of marketing for the greater good.

His research accomplishments over the past five years were recognised by his publishing four articles in “A”-ranked journals, including the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Marketing Research, and the Journal of Marketing, as well as receiving four General Research Funds.

Testing AI in the Real World – HKU Business School Released AI Agents’ Trading Performance
Over the past year, AI large language models (LLMs) have rapidly evolved from simply generating text to taking independent actions and using complex tools. However, a key question remains: can these AI agents actually make profitable decisions in real-world, unpredictable environments? To test this, the Artificial Intelligence Evaluation Lab (AIEL) at HKU Business School, led by Professor Jack Jiang, launched Agentic Trader, through which they evaluated the autonomous trading capabilities of LLM agents in live foreign exchange markets.
