
HKU Business School South China Alumni Network Golf Charity Tournament & Hanlin Cup Kick-Off
On September 20, 2026, the Autumn Charity Golf Tournament organized by the HKU Business School South China Alumni Network Golf Club, along with the Kick-Off Ceremony of the HKU Alumni Golf Team for the Hanlin Cup, took place at Guangzhou Nansha Golf Club.
The event brought together HKU Business School leadership, professors, distinguished alumni, and guests. Notable attendees included:
- Professor Hongbin Cai, Dean of HKU Business School, Chair of Economics, Director of Institute of China Economy
- Professor Heiwai Tang, Associate Vice-President (Global) of HKU, Associate Dean (External Relations) of HKU Business School, Victor and William Fung Professor in Economics, Director of Asia Global Institute
- Professor Junhong Chu, Assistant Dean (EMBA International Stream) of HKU Business School, Professor of Marketing
- Professor Wenwei William Xu, Professor of Practice in Innovation and Information Management at HKU Business School
- Mr. Xie Nan, Executive Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee of the Hanlin Cup
- Distinguished faculty representatives and leaders from regional alumni chapters
During the event, Dean Cai presented the team flag to the HKU Alumni Golf Team, marking the formal launch of the squad as they prepare to compete in the 17th Hanlin Cup Chinese Universities Alumni Golf Tournament.
The newly launched team draws members from South, North, and East China alumni networks, fostering stronger connections and interregional collaboration within the HKU alumni community.
Supporting the School’s development: “Beyond 25” Initiative
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of HKU Business School, a special charity auction was held on-site. Funds raised from the auction will directly support the School’s “Beyond 25″ Initiative, focusing on faculty and campus development projects.
The event concluded with a celebratory dinner where guests and alumni gathered to toast friendly competition, lifelong alumni bonding, and a shared philanthropic spirit dedicated to supporting the School’s development.
