Congratulations to our HKU Business School students for winning Third Place at the Sydney International Business Competition (SIBC) 2026, and Best Speaker in the 6-hour case challenge!
Hosted by the University of Sydney Business School, SIBC brings together top university teams from across the globe to tackle challenging real-world business cases. Through the competition, participants develop their problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills while building connections with peers from diverse international backgrounds.
Competing in both the 6-hour and 24-hour case challenges, our students delivered outstanding performances, demonstrating exceptional analytical ability, creativity, and presentation excellence.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better team. Even though LARP Consulting was newly formed, our chemistry clicked from the very first case practice. Beyond the late-night grinds and high-pressure moments, I’m touched by the care and thoughtfulness you all showed me — whether it was the little gifts, the thank-you card, or just checking in on me when I was running on fumes. To the SIBC organisers and our wonderful buddies: thank you for your warmth and kindness; you made Sydney feel like a second home. I’m incredibly grateful for the genuine connections we built with every person we met along the way. This is my last international case competition representing HKU Business School, and it will definitely be my most unforgettable one.”

“Representing HKU Business School at the Sydney International Business Competition was an incredible and unforgettable experience. Being locked in our hotel room, powering through the gruelling 6-hour and 24-hour cases pushed our analytical and problem-solving skills to their limit under pressure. But beyond intense case cracking, it was the late-night grinds, shared laughs, and incredibly fun moments with the team and other students we met from different countries that truly made the competition special and created core memories that I will hold onto. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity and look forward to representing HKU at future international case competitions.”

“Leaving our internships to go to Sydney where there’s sunshine, non-humid weather, cool temperature and no rain was a blessing. It was a pleasure to represent HKU Business School, and regardless of the final outcome, we sharped our presentation and case cracking skills through the intense 6–hour and 24–hour cases. We are grateful for the bonds we built with different students from different countries that we met in this competition, and we wish to represent HKU in other future international case competitions.”

Tackling both the 6-hour and 24-hour case sharpened my resilience, public speaking, and critical thinking, while grounding it in Australia’s contemporary political and business landscape. Beyond the competition, networking with talented business students and teachers from universities in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, and Canada also significantly broadened my global awareness – every conversation was an opportunity for me to learn new perspectives while also sharing my own in return!
