HKUBS Mentorship Programme 2023-24 Networking Event

The HKUBS Mentorship Programme 2023-24’s Networking Event was successfully concluded on April 19, witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including Prof. Derek Chan, Associate Dean (Undergraduate), Prof. Winnie Leung, Assistant Dean (Undergraduate), and a gathering of nearly 100 mentors and mentees.

The event commenced with an opening remarks from Prof. Chan, who graciously extended his heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the School to all mentors for their generous contributions of time and expertise, which played an integral role in the accomplishments of the HKU Business School Mentorship Programme. Serving as an exceptional platform, the event brought together students, alumni, and industry professionals, fostering a vibrant environment conducive to knowledge sharing, collaboration, and personal growth.

During the occasion, guests were treated to a video presentation of the Inauguration Ceremony, offering a retrospective glimpse into the launch of the 2023-24 programme last October. Subsequently, the networking event officially commenced with a toast led by Prof. Chan and Prof. Leung, joined by all mentors and mentees. Throughout the evening, the bonds forged within the mentorship community were further strengthened, and participants enthusiastically shared the exciting experiences that have emerged from this flourishing platform.

Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate the cultivation of enduring relationships between mentors and mentees, which will undoubtedly enrich the professional journeys of our students. We extend our sincere appreciation to the HKU alumni and industry professionals whose steadfast support has been invaluable, and we eagerly anticipate their continued involvement within our esteemed mentorship community.

Twenty-four undergraduate teams, drawn from a global field of more than 12,000 students who competed in local rounds across Asia Pacific and beyond, gathered in Hong Kong from 1 to 5 June for the HSBC/HKU Asia Pacific Business Case Challenge 2026 — the largest undergraduate case competition of its kind. Now in its nineteenth edition, the Challenge concluded with the team representing The University of Sydney, Australia, named the winners of the 2026 edition, after five days of intensive analysis, debate, and live presentations before a panel of industry executives.
