HKU-Accenture Business Consulting Programme 2022-23 Inaugurated

A ceremony was held on January 10, 2023 at HKU iCube to mark the inauguration of the HKU-Accenture Business Consulting Programme 2022-23 – an experiential learning opportunity that allows students from HKU Business School to gain industry knowledge and exposure to business consulting. This year, 30 undergraduate students were selected to join this two-month programme.

Professor Ian HOLLIDAY, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) of HKU delivered the opening remarks. He expressed that the programme feedback from past participants was highly positive since its launch in 2016. ““We are extremely grateful to Accenture for pulling a lot of resources to the Programme and providing opportunities for our students to learn from industry experts.” Ms. Christina WONG, Managing Director, Strategy & Consulting, Greater China, emphasised how students could benefit from this Programme and get prepared for their future careers. Students would be equipped with the essential knowledge and skills in business consulting, with the most up-to-date strategies and topics, including design thinking methodology. “I am sure students will be able to learn necessary skill sets to cop with the challenges in the market, and set the right mindsets with innovation and creativity in order to contribute back to the society!”

Preded to the inauguration ceremony, the 2020-21 Awardees shared their experience with student participants and advised them to treasure this valuable learning experience.

Double the impact: Two parallel masters’ delegations discover Paris & Barcelona!
Earlier this month, the HKU-TLV Innovation Hub successfully led two simultaneous international field trips for Masters’ students —one in Paris and the other in Barcelona. Across both cities, students took part in a rich and immersive academic experience that combined company visits, interactive workshops, and cultural exploration. They engaged with local startups and industry leaders, attended expert-led lectures on geopolitics, EU monetary & economic policy, and explored the local business ecosystems from multiple angles. A major highlight was the Product Management workshop, which focused on one of today’s most in-demand skill sets. Following the workshop, students participated in an exciting Sprint Day, where they applied their earned skills to solve real-world business challenges and deliver impactful, hands-on solutions for French company Le Cordon Bleu & Spanish startup Emotional Hub.
