Today, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Zhang Fengsheng, Founder of Chaoju Eye Care Holdings Limited (Chaoju Eye Care), who shared with us his experiences and insights on how to build and sustain a thriving family business, as well as the challenges and opportunities that come with running a family business.

Chaoju Eye Care, founded in 1988, is a nationally renowned ophthalmology medical service group and industry leader in North China, providing ophthalmology services and eye care services in hospitals and eye clinics. Dr. Zhang discussed the importance of establishing clear roles and responsibilities among family members and how to navigate the complexities of family dynamics to achieve success. He emphasized the importance of communication, transparency, and establishing a strong governance structure to ensure a business operates smoothly.

Upholding the vision of “becoming a global leader in happy eye health”, Dr. Zhang reiterated that experienced ophthalmologists, advanced technology, and equipment are the key factors in consolidating market leadership. He also pinpointed the importance of innovation and collaboration in driving the industry forward, and how Chaoju Eye Care can leverage the unique opportunities in Asia to expand their businesses.

Overall, it was a great session of learning and networking with like-minded individuals. We look forward to hosting more events that inspire and empower our community!

Special thanks to our alumni, David Hong, who is also the Vice President of HKUBSAA for inviting the distinguished speaker and moderating the session.
