Gilbert Lee is Executive Chairman of Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited, Vice-Chairman of Hang Seng Bank (China) Limited and Chief of Staff to Chief Executive of Hang Seng Bank. He leads corporate strategy, M&A, CE Office, mainland China business and Hang Seng Indexes. He was named Distinguished Chief Innovation Officer in 2024 (https://gini.org/gdi-winners/2024) and appointed Convenor of Hang Seng Index Advisory Committee in 2025. Gilbert is Adjunct Professor of University of Hong Kong and City University of Hong Kong respectively, and a frequent speaker in conferences incl AFF, FinTech Week, B&R Summit and HKIB Annual Conference. He is also an Honorary Advisor of the HKU Business School Alumni Association.
He earned an MBA from INSEAD and is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Fellow of CPA Australia (FCPA (Aust.)), a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA, FCMA), an Associate, Life Management Institute (ALMI), a Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA), a Certified Chief Innovation Officer, and a Certified Fintech Professional (Management) (CPFinT(M)).
