HKU Business School’s Future Leader Scholarship Programme | Celebrates the Academic Achievement of 104 Hong Kong Students

HKU Business School’s Future Leader Scholarship Programme | Celebrates the Academic Achievement of 104 Hong Kong Students

For the fourth year running, HKU Business School awarded undergraduate Business School students scholarships through the Future Leader Scholarship Programme. The annual award aims to empower students by providing the resources needed to broaden their knowledge and perspectives, enhance their experience, and bolster their competitiveness for future career success.

The Programme, with the largest number of awardees among all scholarships in the HKU Business School, is supported by the School’s long-standing corporate partners and community leaders, which include AKwok Charitable Fund; BOC Group Life Assurance Company Ltd.; Mr. Michael Chan and Family; The Fan Family Charitable Trust; Dr. Patrick Poon; and Raffles Family Office. By recognising the academic achievements of the 104 full-time Year 3 and 4 local undergraduates, and granting a one-off scholarship of HK$20,000 to each recipient, the Programme aims to encourage the students to participate in various out-of-classroom learning and development activities.

Among last year’s awardees, 57% undertook internships, 51% participated in overseas exchanges, 38% engaged in extracurricular activities, 21% contributed to volunteer services, and 19% completed professional examinations.

*Note: The reason that the individual learning-experience percentages do not equal 100% is that several students participated in multiple activities.

Professor Hongbin CAI, Dean of HKU Business School, said, “At HKU Business School, we believe that leadership transcends academic excellence – it demands courage, resilience, a global mindset, and the agility to navigate emerging technologies. We are grateful for our donors’ generous support, which has made possible the launch of the ‘Future Leaders Scholarship Programme’ for the fourth consecutive year. In this era defined by AI, this Programme is designed to equip exceptional students with knowledge and skills needed to become visionary leaders shaping the future.”

HKU Business School is committed to being a leading, globally impactful academic institution of business and economics. Through initiatives like the Future Leader Scholarship Programme, the School continues to nurture dynamic future leaders who will go on to create positive changes in the world.

Congratulations to our students for winning Third Place in the Hong Kong MBS Digital Economy Business Simulation Competition 2025! The competition was organised by the International Association of Business Management Simulation (IABMS). It immersed students in a simulated, vibrant economic marketplace, allowing them to apply business management concepts in a practical setting. Participating teams are challenged to make strategic decisions, evaluate outcomes, and cultivate critical thinking and decision-making skills through a business simulation game. Among the 250 participants, our students demonstrated their exceptional analytical and strategic skills, securing Third Place in this competition. Please join us in congratulating them on this remarkable achievement.
