The 215th Congregation Ceremony of the HKU Business School took place at the Grand Hall, Centennial Campus, The University of Hong Kong on November 15 and 16, 2025. This momentous event spanned six sessions, creating a truly special occasion for all involved.

One of the highlights was an inspiring speech delivered by Dean Professor Hongbin Cai. As the graduands entered the next chapter of your life, Professor Cai reminded them: “Carry with you: your curiosity and critical mind, your creativity, global vision, practical wisdom, and resilience.”

The Votes of Thanks were delivered by graduand representatives Marina Luisa Opferkuch, Yan Zijie, Ng Hau Yin Hanry, Yu Si Yi, O’Connor Gerald and Keung Yeuk Yan. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to the faculty, staff, families, and friends for their unwavering support throughout the academic journey. Their words resonated with the audience, capturing the essence of the challenges faced, the triumphs achieved, and the optimistic, forward-looking mindset of the graduates as they embrace the opportunities ahead.

The Congregation Ceremony was attended by over 4,000 people, including 1,500 graduands embarking on the next chapter of their lives and 2,500 families and friends who came to support and celebrate this remarkable milestone.

The HKU Business School hosted a fireside chat with Joe Tsai, Co-Founder and Chairman of Alibaba Group, on Technological Drivers of China’s Economic Growth in the Next 10 Years on 5 November 2025.  As part of the Edward K Y Chen Distinguished Lecture Series, the session explored how innovation, technology, and artificial intelligence (AI) are reshaping business and driving long-term economic growth for China.  The lecture brought together close to 1,000 attendees at HKU Loke Yew Hall.
