Ms Vivian Lau


Ms Vivian Lau – Interim President of Junior Achievement Asia Pacific (from July 2013 till present), a non-profit charitable
organization focused on inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy through activities based programs along key focus on work readiness, entrepreneurship, financial literacy and life-wide values. 

Ms Lau is Chief Executive Officer of Junior Achievement Hong Kong (from 2004 till present). Junior Achievement Hong Kong serves over 30,000 students with the support of over 2,000 business volunteers every year. .

Ms Lau is also the Director of Pacific Air Limited, a freight General Sales Agent company.

From 2003 to 2005, in addition to her role in Junior Achievement Hong Kong, Ms Lau was also the Chief Operating Officer of Hong Kong Petrochemical Co Ltd. From 2005 to 2011, she was the Chief Executive Officer of this US$200 million turnover and 100 people strong petrochemical manufacturing company based in Yuen Long, New Territories, Hong Kong.

With over 20 years of international experience in industry spanning leadership development, petrochemical, IT, airlines, advertising, online and telecommunication industries, Ms Lau possesses a proven track record in starting, growing, managing and restructuring corporations and non-governmental organization. 

In 2009, she was selected as the Professional of the Year by the Women of Influence Award 2009 organized by American Chamber of Commerce and South China Morning Post. In the same year, Ms Lau was selected by 旭茉 (JESSICA), Hong Kong’s leading women’s monthly magazine, as one of the 12 Most Successful Women 2009 in Hong Kong and the Mainland, in recognition of her personal achievements and contribution to the success of Hong Kong. In 2008, she was selected as one of the 23 Asia 21 Delegates, and recognized as the most dynamic young leaders in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2006, she was the only woman from Asia selected by the International Women’s Forum as one of the 16 Leadership Foundation Fellows for its 2006-07 Global Program. She was the Chairman of the Hong Kong Chapter of the Interactive Advertising Bureau from 2001 to 2003, and the Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong 4A’s Interactive Committee.

Ms Lau currently serves on the following panels of the Government of Hong Kong SAR:

  • Advisory Committee on Revitalization of Historic Buildings, Development Bureau
  • Science and Space Museum Advisory Panel, Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Home Affairs Department
  • Organizing Committee of the Youth Integrity Project, Independent Commission Against Corruption
  • Committee Member, Advisory Group for Youth, Investor Education Centre

Ms Lau holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin, USA and a Master of Business Administration from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.
