The Edward KY Chen Distinguished Lecture 2021 presented by HKU Business School was successfully held today. Four young business leaders, including Ms. Gigi Chao, Executive Vice Chairman of Cheuk Nang (Holdings) Limited; Dr. Adrian Cheng, Executive Vice-chairman and Chief Executive Officer of New World Development Company Limited; Mr. David Liao, Co-chief Executive of HSBC Asia-Pacific and Ms. Dee Poon, Managing Director of Brands and Distribution of Esquel Group, shared their insights into how Hong Kong can maintain its advantages and its role as a world city and international financial centre.

The lecture attracted hundreds of participants. Audiences actively participated in the Q&A session before Professor Edward K Y Chen concluded the lecture. The Lecture is supported by Development & Alumni Affairs Office.

HKU Business School had the honour of hosting a distinguished delegation from the Stanford Center on China's Economy and Institutions. The delegation included over 30 undergraduate students and staff from various departments such as the School of Engineering, School of Humanities and Sciences, Doerr School of Sustainability, as well as the Stanford Centre on China's Economy and Institutions, all with a keen interest in the latest developments in the Chinese economy and its global impact. Our School was delighted to host this delegation and witness the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and experiences that will undoubtedly enrich the academic communities of both Stanford University and the University of Hong Kong.
