Mari Pangestu is the Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Indonesia for International Trade and Multilateral Cooperation, and Vice Chair of the National Economic Council. She previously served as the President’s Special Envoy for Climate Finance and advised the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs on sustainability, energy transition, and blended finance (2023–2024).

From 2020 to 2023, she was Managing Director of Development Policy and Partnerships at the World Bank. Earlier, she was Indonesia’s Minister of Trade (2004–2011) and Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (2011–2014).

She has over 30 years of experience across academia, diplomacy, international organisations and government.

She is currently Professor of International Economics at the University of Indonesia and a Board Member of the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Jakarta. She is also a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and at the Center for Global Energy Policy at Columbia University, as well as an Honorary Professor at the Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University.

She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from the Australian National University, and her PhD in economics from the University of California, Davis.

冯慧兰（玛丽•庞厄斯图）现任印尼共和国总统国际贸易和多边合作特使，以及国家经济委员会副主席。她曾担任总统气候融资特使，并于2023至2024年为海事与投资统筹部提供可持续发展、能源转型和混合融资方面的政策建议。

2020年至2023年，她担任世界银行的发展政策与伙伴关系常务副行长。此前，她曾任印尼贸易部部长（2004至2011年）以及旅游与创意经济部部长（2011至2014年）。

她在学术界、外交、国际组织及政府部门拥有逾30年的经验。

目前，她是印尼大学国际经济学教授，以及雅加达战略与国际研究中心（CSIS）理事会成员。她同时是彼得森国际经济研究所和哥伦比亚大学全球能源政策中心的杰出访问研究员，以及澳大利亚国立大学克劳福德公共政策学院的荣誉教授。

她拥有澳大利亚国立大学的经济学学士和硕士学位以及加利福尼亚大学戴维斯分校的经济学博士学位。
