FBE team wins 1st Runner-up in BI International Case Competition 2019

(from left) Kenny LAM, Wilfred CHAN, Atthaseda Anthony LIM and Pinto Rasika TASDYATA .

A team of four FBE students is awarded 1st Runner-up in the BI International Case Competition (BIICC) 2019.

This is an annual business case competition organised by BI Norwegian Business School since 2016. This year, 12 international teams from 10 different countries competed in solving real business case of strategic partners from the business community. The competition consists of a warm-up case followed by a 30-hour main case. In the grand finale, the top three teams presented their solutions in front of a panel of judges, who are senior representatives from the strategic partners of BIICC.

After six intense days of programme and competition, the FBE team, Causeway Consulting, claimed the 1st Runner-up with their creative solutions and exceptional presentation.

Congratulations to all the team members and a special thank you to Mr. Albert Fung for being the team coach.

Students feedback:

In the case competition, we were asked to suggest a solution to help a Norwegian oil company, Equinor, to commercialize Hydrogen as a viable energy source. It was quite a challenge for us to integrate business knowledge into the energy industry in a short period time. But we enjoyed much in the 30-hour case cracking process, completing internal deadlines and regular trainings. Our favourite part was the finale, where we were able to learn different ways in solving a case from other teams’ presentation.

Our time in Norway was simply great. It was our first visit to Norway and we are pleased to meet with many like-minded students from all around the globe. We were also lucky to have been invited by the city Mayor to visit the town hall where legislators conduct hearings and pass laws, and where the Nobel Peace Prize is presented at every year.

Members of the student team are:
LAM Yan Ho Kenny, BBA(IBGM), Year 4
CHAN Wilfred, BBA(IBGM), Year 4
LIM Atthaseda Anthony, BBA(Acc&Fin), Year 4
TASDYATA Pinto Rasika, BBA(IBGM), Year 4
