Dr. Guo is an Assistant Professor of Management at HKU Business School. She obtained her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, and received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Her research interests are emotions and leadership, with the aim of helping individuals in the workplace foster positive change in themselves and others by unleashing their untapped potential. To that end, her primary stream of research examines the role emotions play in the interpersonal influence process, particularly in facilitating learning and growth, building trust in conflicts, and promoting healthy self-esteem. Her secondary stream of research focuses on shared leadership in teams.
