Prof. Jessie Fok is a dually qualified lawyer for over 35 years with broad experience in corporate and transactional matters. Prof. Fok started her career in London with Herbert Smith Freehills where she worked on UK’s two transformative privatizations which reshaped the delivery of water and electricity public services in the UK. In Hong Kong, Prof. Fok was a securities lawyer in magic circle law firm Clifford Chance before joining a HK-based multinational conglomerate with a remarkably diverse portfolio spanning across industries and continents in logistics, telecommunications, property/hotel development, retail and infrastructure/energy. At this conglomerate’s Head Office level, Prof. Fok gained extensive commercial and corporate experience through supporting the Group’s legal, commercial and strategic needs in addition to ensuring holistic compliance of HK listing rules by the several listed companies within the group. From 2004-2025, Prof. Fok headed the investment banking legal division of a Global Bank, providing support to its APAC Equity Capital Markets and Mergers and Acquisitions advisory practices, leading a team of lawyers covering 12 jurisdictions, guiding the Bank through several major and transformative regulatory changes whilst embracing ESG and revolutionary AI-related developments.
Prof. Fok graduated from Oxford University with honors. She has been awarded the Top-Tier In-House Counsel of the Year Award in 2024 and was part of the HK team included in the Legal 500 General Counsel Powerlist 2023. Prof. Fok engages in a variety of pro-bono work, youth and mentorship programs; and has received accreditation on Business Sustainability Management from University of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership with high distinction in 2024. Prof. Fok has been appointed Civil Celebrant of Marriages since 2016 and currently serves as a member of the Development Committee at the Hong Kong Arts Centre.
